Challenge Accepted

Challenge accepted

Almost one year ago me and a some colleagues decided it was time. Time to challenge ourselves. All of us being experienced in cloud we felt the need to stage the scene and not just set the right example but drive cloud awareness for not only our colleagues but also to the community.

So the challenge was; “become a Microsoft Certified Trainer within a year”.

First part of the challenge was that we needed the actual accreditation “Microsoft Certified Trainer – Instructional Skills Certification”. After some research we found MCT-ISC on Microsoft’s Become a Microsoft Certified Trainer website as authorized training partner and after being introduced to Mike Corkery and Heather Severino, both Microsoft MCT Regional Leads, we were convinced they were the partner to start our journey with. I really enjoyed the sessions with my fellow students and the support from not only Mike and Heather but also their network of MCT’s willing to contribute to our success.

But before you can enroll as an Microsoft Certified Trainer you also need to have valid Microsoft certificates and mine were all expired. So here’s the next part of the challenge.

Even though I’ve been working with Microsoft Azure for quite a while I needed to study hard resulting in:

  •  On November 25th 2020 I passed on AZ-104 and became Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • On February 19th 2021 I passed on AZ-500 and became Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • On April 29th 2021 I passed on AZ-303 which is the first part of the Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • On May 20th 2021 I passed on AZ-304 and became Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

In the meantime I’ve been part of the CGI Academy where we have trained over 200 CGI members for AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals).

So to summarize, it has been a busy year but I’m not quite done with the challenge as I intend to extend my list of certifications. #neverstoplearning #practicewhatyoupreach #preachwhatyoupractice #mctbuzz
